40 Volunteers, 16 Career Members and a Tired 1991 Seagrave have waited a long time, and now the New E-10 has arrived. Hanover County purchased 6 New 2008 Seagrave Engines and they have arrived.
The Seagrave Pumper is a 2008 is state of the art and specifically designed for the County of Hanover. With a 2000 GPM Pump, 750 Gal Tank, 415 HP Detroit Engine she has the guts for the job ahead for her. She sports the New Safety Striping front and Rear, has a 10kw Onan Generator, LED emergency lighting and lots of Scene lights. There is a hydraulic ladder rack, front bumper line, low ride hose bed, and a Rapid Attack Monitor and a mounted Deck gun. Five pack seats, storage for 8 air bottles, shelves for all gear, tools and a new 10,000 psi Centaur Hydraulic Combination Tool. E-10 is the County's Template so the committee as well as A Shift led by Lt. Travis Long are hard at work configuring the compartments and the equipment. Lt. Travis Long has been the lead for the project of all six engines and has done a superb job on the engines. The new engine will serve as Engine 10 first out, replacing the 1991 Seagrave we have now. The new engine will be an EMS First Responder certified and carry basic extrication equipment. The 1991 will be designated as 10 Unit 2 and will be in service after a little face lift and some TLC. Station 10 will then have the capability to respond to 2nd out calls with a pumper and back up our sister stations when called to do so. This is a great addition to our fleet, stop by and see her.
